SPOILED ROMANCE.
NAVAL OFFICER'S FIANCEE. SHUT OUT OF AMERICA. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 7.5 a.m.) SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 6. Miss Gerald ine Conroy, of Sydney, arrived at San Francisco to marry Lieutenant A. E. Col ton of the United States battleship Pennsylvania, whom she met when the fleet visited Australia. The immigration officials stated that the Australian quota was filled and refused Miss Conroy permission to enter tho United States. Lieutenant Colton is now hurrying to the detention station to endeavour to rescue his fiancee.
