RUN OVER BY A CAR.

LITTLE CHILD INJURED. DRIVER'S IDENTITY NOT KNOWN. [3Y TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] DUNEDIN, Tuesday. An accident occurred on the Finegand Road when a child of fiva years, a daughter of Mr. D. M. Ausland, of Finegand; was run over by a motor-car and sustained a compound fracture of the left thigh. The child was one of a party of school children being conveyed from Balclutha to their homes in a motor-bus. The bus had stopped opposite a road intersection at Finegand and the child hid just been lifted down to the ground and started to run across the road when a car came suddenly upon the scene from the south going toward Balclutha. The driver of the car failed to report the accident when he reached Balclutha. He was unknown to those who were on the scene of the accident and no one took the number of the car.
