THRILLS OF WHALING.
CREWS EXCITING CHASE, MOMENTS OF GREAT PERIL. After a two hours' chase, the master whaler, Mr. George Davidson, and his crew of whalers, recently effected the capture of a right whale, which had been held up and attacked by the killers when cruising in proximity to the latter's headquarters near the south head of Twofold Bay, New South Wales. The chase was full of exciting incidents. At one time the whale came to the surface directly underneath Mr. Davidson's #ha!eboat, which was almost overturned by the impact, and was carried some distance perilously balanced on the whale's back. The captured whale was towed to the whaling station. It is expected to yield a large quantity of whalebone* and about five tqns of oil. - .■■jgL?
