FATAL RAILWAY SMASH.
TWO VICTIMS SUCCUMB. FRENCH TRAINS IN COLLISION. A. and N.Z. PARIS. Oct. 4. The twentieth serious accident on the French railways this year occurred near Strassburg, Alsace-Lorraine. It resulted in two deaths. A goods train was being shunted when it collided with the Paris-Strassburg express, a portion of which was overturned. The operators of the goods train had forgotten that the time table had been altered for the winter season, otherwise they would have cleared the line. The driver was arrested.
