AUCKLAND STOCK EXCHANGE. There was practically no inquiry for New Zealand Government securities on the Auckland sharcniarket yesterday. In hanks holders of New Zaalands improved 3d to 575, buyers again being at 56s 3d. In insurances there was a sale of New Zealandr, at the still higher figure of 36s 6d, late holders quoting 375, with buyers at 36s 3d. A transaction in South British was reported at 50s 6d, the previous sale figure. Closing holders were at 50s 9d, buyers 50s 3d. In coal two sales of Taupiri took place at 16s 9c!, with closing inquiry at 16s 6d, holders asking 17s. In gas Aucklands sold at the ruling price of 22s 3d. In miscellaneous lines buyers of New Zealand Breweries advanced from 45s 9d to 475, but no holders quoted. San fords were improved at holders 20s, buyers 19s 6d. Taranaki Oils were available at 20s 9d, with buyers at 20s, Wilsons Cement changed hands at 3% 6d, with late holders at 355, and buyers offering the sale figure. In mining Kawaraos: were extraordinarily active, and five sales occurred, opening at 6s, failing to 5s !M and finally recovering to 5s lid. These shares have'been falling consistently lately. Last week's price was 9s 4cl, while the figure a month ago was 15s. Waibis sold at 25s 6d and 25s 7d, with closing holders at 25s Bd, buyers 25s sd. The following sales took place:—New Zealand Insurance, 36s &d; South British Insurance. 60s 6d; Taupiri Coal, 16s 9d (two sales); Auckland Gas, 22s 3d; Wilsons Cement, 34s 6d; K.awarau, 6s, 5s lOd 5s 9d (two sales), 5s lid; Waihi, 25s 6d, 25s 7d.
