Week-end operations at Kensington were interesting and a few of the candidates were sent along on the outside of the course proper with the pace on. Messrs. A. E. McMahon and T. Lmnell b fillies were cantered to the three furlong pep and sprinted home. Both show inuica' tions of being useful later on. Lightwood hopped off from the seven furlongs and was nicely picked up by Allegiance at the six. The former easily held the latter in a fair gallop. Mr Laxton's colt Golden Glint and Thurnrosae were sent over five furlongs. Elstow and Golden Glint were schooled over the fences, giving a good display. Smoke Concert was gomg better than Take Take and Clockwork after gomg once r °Al though Aurumavis is looking well, Tapuhi was much the better over a four-fur-Although scratched for the Cup it will not be surprising locally to see wocturne to the fore during the meeting, Titaness and Sunbar went leisurely over six furlongs. The latter was moving mceiy at the finish, _ . . , , Hoariri and Lady Lots were associated over five furlongs, the former holding his rival well at the business end. St. Lucas and Tapuhi covered a round, the former finishing best. Nocturne went four furlongs alone. She moved freely but was not fully extended. Aurumavis and Delightment, in company, were ssnt over a round* the Catmint colt moving nicely. „ Lady Patience and Scrap o' Paper are getting through useful tasks. The latter, although getting a bit aged, bobs up serenely every now and again. Wild Arch is still on the green side and will require a race or two. Flo rent and Comet .King sprinted over five furlonas, finishing together. \ jockey's license has been granted to W. R. Jenkins, of Whangarei, who has been engaged in riding work for, some time and who should secure mounts at the meeting. A very heavy downpour to-day will make the track soft and will interfere with the fast work in the morning. Roach will have the mount on Elstow. Tom Moore will probably be ridden by Henderson. and P. Sinclair will pilot Hoariri and Lady Lois. Florent '7,0) was omitted from the accentors in the Kensington Hack Handicap to be run at the Whangarei meeting, and Just Quietly (10.1) from the County Handicap Allegiance was wrongly included in the' latter event.
