EXTREMISTS AND STRIKES.
Sir, —I ofteu wish the rough old Oliver Cromwell was present with us these days. Ho would very soon dean up all this mess we have with the Bolshies. Communists and strikers and extremists, etc., etc. The present condition of things is largely due to the trades unions. They have, in fact, become a perfect tyranny, ruled by extremists. Preference to unionists is a monstrous wrong. It robs a man of his right to work for whom he likes and also the employer to employ whom he wishes, unless the worker belongs to a union. In my opinion, it Is—time _ the whole system of trade unions and Arbitration Court wero swept away. The Court was established for the benefit of the trades unions. The Court considers a trade dispute and gives a« award. If this suits the ideas of the union it's all right; if not, the union kicks Over the traces and will have none of the Court's award. All this shipping trouble in Australia is caused through the action of the extremists and anarchists among the unionists over there. How it is all going to end it is impossible to say, but I very much fear there will be dreadful trouble. AH agitators, should be deported. If our country and its Government and laws don't suit them, for goodness sake let then clear out and go to Russia or any other country. We can do without them. Loyalist.
