AUCKLAND STOCK EXCHANGE.

Conditions wore quiet on the Auckland j sharemarket on Saturday. There was j little inquiry for New Zealand Govern- i ment securities, but the principal banks were in demand. Holders of New Zealands asked 56s 9d, buyers 56s 3d, In j insurances New Zealands were unchanged j at holders 56s 9d, buyers, 36s 4d. South j British were firmer at holders 51s, buyers j 503 3d. In miscellaneous lines a sale of I New Zealand Breweries was reported at the higher figure of 45s 6d, further .buyers j quoting the same price, with sellers at I 475. Taranaki Oils were unchanged, be- j nig available at 20s 6d, inquiry being at j 20s 3d. In mining holders of Waihi again asked 25s 9d, with buyers at 25s 6d. ; The following sale took place:—New j Zealand Breweries shares, 45s 6d.
