EDENDALE SCHOOL SPORTS.
SUCCESSFUL TOURNAMENT.
The annual sport* and basketball tournament in connection with the Ed en dale school were held on Saturday afternoon. Despite the unpropitious weather there was a largo gathering of parents and friends, members of the School Committee and Mrs. N, E. Pernor, a member of the Education Board. An interesting programme was carried out under the direction of the headmaster, Mr. C A, Semad<-ni, and first assistant master, Mr. E. E. C. Stretton. A series of Sir do Coverley dances were gone through by 'the senior and junior girls, while exhibition* of dancing steps were executed by the senior boys. An exhibition basketball match was played by the old girls of the school Afternoon tea was dispensed in the lower school by the lady teachers and old girls. The results of the sports are as follows; Basketball knock-out tournament (eight teams), won by Hilda Window's team. Past v. Present basketball knock-out toursaament ended in a draw. Relay race. Standard 11. boys, won by "A" squad. Overhead ball, Standard 111. boys, won by "A" squad.
