AMERICAN EXHIBITION.
GREAT INDUSTRIAL FAIR. To celebrate the 150 th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence of the United States in 1776, an exposition designed to express the industry of man in all parts of the world is to be held at Philadelphia. Captain Baker, of the American Foreign Office, has been visiting England with an invitation for Britain t» take part in the exposition." He stated recently that a nujnber of English firms representing the pottery industry, textiles, sporting goods and leather goods had agreed' to exhibit.' The exposition will cover 670 acres, and, opening in June next, will be continued for six months. The seven main exhibit palaces *wilT each cover 8£ acres, and the automobile building will cover 400,000 square feet. "I am going to ask for the Coldstream Guards Band to - be allowed to come over," said Captain Baker. "And after appearing at tre exposition they should be able to go on lour through America."
