A ROMANTIC STORY. TO BE PUBLISHED IN HERALD. BEGINNING NEXT MONDAY. , Publication of Madame Melba's memoirs under the title of " Melodies and Memories" is to be commenced in serial form in the columns of the New Zealand HtnrtAm on Monday next. The memoirs ate entertainingly written and shot through with gleams of humour. The recollections of the prima donna of her early life in the Australian' backblocks should be of particular interest to all who are familiar with country life in either New Zealand or her nearest neighbour. The account of Melba's early struggles in Paris and London, her extended travels, and her delightful anecdotes about people of note, from great artists to Royalty, combine to form a tale as romantic and adventurous as any which has made its appearance in the guise of fiction. The Hebald has purchased the rights 6f serial publication of selections from the memoirs before . the book becomes available to the public. The opening chapter of this unique serial will appear on Monday,' and thereafter ihstalme&te^'will be published daily.
