Last week people were wondering by fcow many points the Hawke's Bay football team would beat Auckland. This week they are saying it is only a shame what New Zealand is going to do to New South Wales at Eden Park in Saturday. The prospects are as bright as this week's issue of the New Zealand Observer, which contains, among other articles, "One Big Union," "University Education," "Suppression of Names" and '"Sportive Grandmothers." The illustrations include the cartoons by "Bio," "0.8. U.," having reference to syndicalism, "It Overshadows - Everything— Football," and "When Justice Alpers Rules the Bench—Begone Dull Care." There is a full page of photographs of players who took part in the Hawke's Bay v. Auckland football match and a number of personal and topical sketches. In view of the near approach of the Avondale meeting, the racing commissioner's notes are worth perusing. Thn Observer is on sale at all booksellers and the price is only sixpence.
