QUEENSLAND BUDGET.
A. and N,Z. BKIBBANE, Sept. 9. The Premier of Queensland, Mr. W. N. Gillies, announced in the Legislative Assembly to-day that the decision of the Government to increase the basic wage would involve an expenditure of £240,000. The Financial Statement showed that the Government's loan programme for the year would entail an expenditure of £5,500,000, Mr. Gillies estimated the revenue for the coming year at £15,610,000, and the expenditure at £15,598,000.
