CALLED BY TELEPHONE.
HEAVY SLEEPER'S RIGHTS. A. and N.Z. LONDON. Sept. 8. The telephone regulations prescribe that any heavy sleeper who desires to be called early can ring np the supervisor and ask to be called at a given time. At the appointed hour the telephone will ring until the subscriber answers or the call operator desists in despair. The charge for this service is to be threepence. A postal official says: "We are not very keen on this branch of the service and do not encourage it. Fortunately it is not used extensively."
