MANGERE ROADS.
As a frequent oner of the Mangcrc-City main roads, I have noticed one or two things which might easily bo attended to by the responsible parties. On Mangeru Bridge there is a hole in the concrete which is over 18in. wide and is almost 6in. deep. This hole has been there for over a year, but on Saturday afternoon a motor-cyclist struck it and. narrowly escaped flying into the front of my car. Is this to be allowed to' remain another year? All over the bridge there aro holes of this type forming which will, in a few months, be extremely difficult to fill. There is another example of a road which, if allowed to start deteriorating, will continue doing so. Roberjtson Road—so well known to Mangere residents-as having been torn up for over' two years — is at last half completed. When the other half will be done rests in the hands of others, but while they aro busy not finishing tho road, could they not cast their eyes over tho finished part ? Heavy milk traffic and buses .. are combining to force it out of shape. One corner is completely breaking away. Water is lying on several places and that is a fatal thing. Is this year's job going to be as big a fiasco as last year's? A little money spent on repairs would save the thousands which invariably oomo afterwards as a result of .this,;S,amo negligence which has hitherto been shown. 'Ford.
