W.C.T.U. MEETING.
The meeting of the Auckland Women's Christian Temperance Union was held in the Central Mission Hall on Tuesday afternoon. Mrs. Cook, who presided, was heartily congratulated on - her appointment to the office of Dominion president of the National Council of Women. Mrs. Fulljames, Maori superintendent, requested the members to bring the clothes for the Maoris to the next meeting, so that she may despatch them to the North. Delegates were appointed to the district convention to be held at Devonport on September 23. The Rev. P. S. Smallfield, whose •■work was spoken of in eulogistic terms by the president, addressed the meeting, and gave some clear and conclusive facts in answer to arguments brought forward against prohibition. His remarks were of a highly educative nature, and full of interest. Mr. St all worthy gave a very interesting talk on prohibition in Canada.
