CHOIR LADIES' DRESSES.
PERPLEXITY IN DUNEDIN. The question of dresses to be worn by ladies on any particular occasion is one about which the average man knows littlo o~ nothing, and for that reason it was not, surprising to find at the meeting of the directors of the New Zealand and South Seas Exhibition Company last week, says the Otago Daily Times, that those present were faced with a difficulty in endeavouring to arrive at a decision regarding tho colour of the dresses to bo worn by the female members of the exhibition choir. It appeared from the discussion that there was a marked difference of opinion among the members oi' the choir, some favouring black dresses and some having I preference for whita. After some discussion, in the conrso of which Mr. Hainswortli stated that, he ht.d never seen a choir of such a size as tho Dunediit one would be, dressed in white, ifc was decided to leave the matter to the general manager, who was deputed to get an expression of opinion from tho ladies coiicorned. One director Laughingly suggested that the difficulty might be overcome by .asking the ladies over 35 years to appear in black and tha others in white*
