A"*- 1In tho Chancery Division a test case was decided by Mr. Justice Roiner, who ruled that women toachcrs must not bo dismissed bccauso tlicy aro married. The case was one in which tho Poole corporation had dismissed ,an assistantschoolmistress on the ground that the primary duty of a married woman was to look after her domestic affairs.
Tho Judgo hold that tl'ie corporation's motive was irrelevant to the exercise of its statutory duties. Tho corporation ordered to pay tho cost* oi thg cage.
