" otahuhu prize - giving. The Olahu.hu Bowling Club held its annual prize-giving social in the Otahuhu Public Hall last Friday evening, the president, Mr. A. Murdoch, presiding. The gathering was highly successful. Euchre was played in tho supper room during the early part of tho evening, while dancing was carried on in tho main hall, about 100 couples taking part. Aftor tho supper adjournment Mr. A. Murdoch preaonted tho prizes, and took tho opportunity of presenting a case of pipes to Mr. Ken. Lippiatt, who has beou groon superintendent for five years, and a gentleman's travelling companion to Mr. W. Best, who was secretary for four years. Mr. Murdoch complimented tho recipients on their work and mentioned the high esteem in which thoy were held. Club competition winners were: —Singles champion, J. Gardiner; champion pairs, S. E. Harper and R. Campbell; .handicap pairs, A. Tomes and J, Turner; handicap singles, H. Thorpe; percentage fours, R. B. Todd, S. E. Harper, J. Ogilvio and K. Lippiatt; Wednesday percentage pairs, J. W. Whyte and C. B. Whitmore; first-year champion, J. H. Turner. There were also 14 other trophies presented for various tournaments. Winners of the euchre tournament were:— Ladies, Mrs. McFarlane, 1; Mrs. Bailey, 2; Mrs. French, 3. Men: Mr. J. Petersen, 1; Mr. Gardiner, 2; Mr. R. Campbell, 8. • ' Music for tho dancing was supplied by Miss West's orchestra, extras being played by Mrs. J. Gillies and Mrs. Jamieson. Tha M.C.'s were Messrs. Best, Thorpe and Pearce.
