PRESENTATIONS.
Before his departure on transfer to Wellington, Mr. A. P. Bennett, who for the last eighteen years has been health inspector at Hamilton, was presented with a set of pipes by officers of the Department of Agriculture. Mr, It. Alexander spoko of Mr. Bennett's excellent service in tho Waikato and referred to the cordial relations thai, had always existed between the officers of the Health and Agricultural departments in Hamilton. The residents of W&ereuga and the surrounding districts tendered a farewell social to the Elliot family, who, after many years' residence here, are leaving to live on their farm at Pokeno. Tho gathering was easily a record one for tho district, and in itself was an eloquent testimonial to the great popularity ot the guests of- the evening. Mr. Elliot and family were prominently associated with, the various social and sporting activities of the district, and will be greatly missed. Mr. John Sampson, in a neat speech, conveyed the good wishes of tiioso E resent, tend as a token of appreciation anded to Mr, and Mrs.. Elliot a very handsome silver tea and coffee set. Mr. Elliot was also the recipient of a valuable gold medal presented by the sports club.
