NEW ZEALAND V. AUCKLAND. WIN FOR DOMINION TEAM. GOOD WORK BY THE BACKS. 'A match between tho New Zealand League team and an Auckland representative thirteen was played at Carlaw Park yesterday, tho Dominion combination winning by 16 points to 9. The ground was in a bud state, and good football was out of tho question. Ncverthejess, the New Zealand backs wero seen in some line combined moyenients. The teams wero:— New Zealand.--Gregory, Brown, Dufty, Parkos, Saunders, Wetherall, Webb, Carrol, Lowry, Ellis, Thomas, Mouatt, Henry. Auckland.—Herewini, Crewther, Littlewood, Gardiner, Cole, Hargreaves, Peckham, Singe, St. George, Mackic, O'Brien, Molloy, McDonald. Singe Scores First Try. New Zealand wore tho first to attack, Mouatt leading a forward rush, but Auckland wero tho first to score. When Gardiner missed a shot at goal, Webb, instead of touching down, passed to Saunders, who dropped tlio ball. Littlewood gathered, it up, and passed to Singe who scorod. Herewini missed at goal. Auckland continued to have tho better of tho play, and St. George kept on beating Ixnvry for the ball. However, Brown followed up fast, to catch Herewini in possession, and from the scrum the New Zealand team showed up in a brilliant passing run. Tho bail went from Webb, Wetherall, to Saunders.
