SELECTING DOMINION TEAM. PLAYERS FOR 1 SATURDAY. NORTH VERSUS SOUTH ISLAND. Considerable interest is being taken in the selection of the New Zealand League football team to visit Australia. To assist the selectors, two trial matches have been fixed for Saturday at Carlaw Park, one between North and South Island teams and the other between A and B teams selected from local players. The selectors wish it to he clearly understood that all players taking part in either of the trial games are eligible for selection in the Now Zealand team. The New Zealand selectors, Messrs. C. Pearce and W. Liversidge, last evening announced that the following team would represent the North Island: — Fullback.—C. Dufty (Athletic). Threequarters.—L. Brown (City), J. Kirwan (Marist), F. Delgrosso (Ponsonby). Five-eighths.—B. Laing (Devon port), M. Wetherall (City). Halfback.—Wilson-Hall (Athletic). Forwards.—E. Herring (Athletic), A. Townsend (City), E. J. Carroll (Wellington), S. Dixon (Devonport), B. Avery (Athletic), N. Bass (City). The South Island team, as already announced, will be as follows: — Fullback.— E. Brosnahan (Canterbury). Threequarters.—J.
