GROWING OF WHEAT.
COMPLAINT BY FARMERS. [by telegraph.—own correspondent.] CHRISTCHURCH. Tuesday. At a meeting of the Waimate branch of the Farmers' Union the following motion was carried: "That this meeting of the Farmers' Union takes exception to the notices appearing in the newspapers appealing to farmers to grow wheat, in that it is impossible at this late period of the fixture of prices to prepare lund for wheat this year, although the farmers will make every effort to increase the area."
