MAN DROPS DEAD.
TRAGEDY AT A MEETING. EFFORT TO HEAL BREACH. Tragedy ended an effort at a political meeting'of Merthyr electors in Queensland recently to heal the breach in the ranks of the anti-Labour forces in the Queensland Parliament. Mr. J. T. McMinn had just moved a motion that tho Merthyr branch of tho United Party should support the newly-formed CountryProgressive Party,, when he collapsed and died. ■ He had submitted to the meeting it shoijld ,mark time pending complete unity. ■ ' ' . ' Mr. J. Roche, who had seconded an amendmont endorsing the formation of tho Country-Progressive Party, addressed the chairman, saying: " Surely Mr. Chairman, you' know your business without being dictated to by Mr. McMinn!" Hardly had Mr. Roche . uttered these remarks, when Mr. McMinn collapsed, and the meeting was brought to an abrupt conclusion.
