TRAMWAY TICKETS.
TRANSFERS NOT ADVISABLE. DECISION IN WELLINGTON. Tho much-debated question as to the advisability of the Wellington Tramways Department adopting a system of tram transfer tickets was again before the City Council last week, when tho Tramways Committee reported that it had fully considered tho question and was strongly o£ opinion that tho issuing of transfer tickets was not advisable on the Wellington tramway system. Opinions had been received from tho traffic manager of the Sydney tramways, from tho Melbourne and Metropolitan Tramways Board, and tho Brisbane Tramway Trust; aiso from the general manager (Mr. Ford) and the traffic manager (Mr. Morgan), of the Auckland tramways. All expressions of opinion, were strongly against the mo of transfers from one car to another. The report was adopted.
