FIRST ROUND GOMPLETi'D. MARISTS BEAT UNIVERSITY. GRAMMAR'S THIRD SUCCESS. The Rugby championship' competitions were continued on Saturday afternoon in dull but fine weather on grounds that had been softened by Friday's rain. 'lhero wero many exciting incidents and bright interludes in the two senior matches at Eden Park. Both were fast and keenly con.tcst.ed. . There was a fair attendance. University suffered their third defeat this season, going down to Marist Old Boys, by a narrow margin in spite of a belated recovery that raised the interest of the '.spectator;, to concert pitch.
