Gummer, presiding. Tho town clerk was appointed to represent the council at ft conference of local bodies to be held at Hamilton to consider tho apportionment of heavy traffic fees. _ *. :■ : The Finance Commit too was asked to bring down a report on a superannuation scheme lor borough employees. The Morrinsville Reading Room and Best Room Committee applied for a grant of £75 for tho coming year and the Fire Brigade for a grant of £220 for equipment. Both were held over until the estimates for the year uro brought down. The council decided to endorse what, had been done by the Auckland Committee with regard tp a national monument to the memory of the lato Mr. Massey, and to give it, every support. The Waikato Hospital Board advised that tho borough allocation was £450 16s for the coming year. Members spoke strongly against the continued increase each year, but realised that to make a protert would not do any good. It was agreed to take tho necessary steps to transfer the strip of land offered by the Education Department for access to tho proposed river reserve near the Recreation Ground. The question of altering the present stock routes in tho borough was discussed, but the matter was left until a month's time, a notice of motion being required to alter existing conditions. The Works Committee was empowered to make arrangements for the supply of metal for the roading loan so that work could be continued immediately after the winter.
