I i-yMPri EWi Loan or dtoo,oUU m Debentures bearing Interest at 6 per cent i THE WAIRERE ELECTRIC POWER BOARD invites applications for the purchase at par of £IOO Debentures to the amount of £38,500. y* The money is required for the construction and erection olr a Generating Station, Head Works and Pipe Line, Transmission L.ine and Transformer Stations, and for distributing power and light for commercial and domestic purposes throughout the Board's district. This is a work of great public importance. It will immensely improve the domestic conditions of residents, improve the facilities for working farms, and can confidently be expected to improve the selling price of the land. The situation of the Hydro-Electric Power Works is on the Wairere Falls, Mokau River, within a few miles of Pio Pio. Owing to the unusually adaptable natural features of the power-generating development at these Falls, the cost of installation will be exceptionally small, and will theVeby ensure a particularly low annual cost per horse-power generated. The adoption of automatic control of the plant will enable this cost to be kept from about one-quarter to half the cost of generating oower in the large Government undertakings. ~ SECURITY. The Debentures are secured on a special rate of 1-15/1 6cL in the pound .(£) on the unimproved value of the rateable property in the Wairere Electric Power District, which unimproved value is approximately ! £380,000. This annual rate will produce approximately £3,067/14/2 per annum. ■ ' ■ ' . The rating area included in the Power Board District comprises approximately 147 square miles. Government value:—Unimproved, £380,000; Improvements, £290,000; Capital Value, £670,000. The Board is carrying out a policy of erecting its lines only in those localities in which the guaranteed revenue is sufficient to render the work self-supporting, and investors, therefore have as security the security rate and the self-supporting revenue. Sufficient guarantees'from consumers have already been obtained to bring in a sufficient annual revenue to pay running expenses in addition to the interest and sinking fund on the loan. TRUST FUNDS, The Board's debentures are an authorised investment for trust funds. SINKING FUND. A Sinking Fund of 1 °/o per annum will be provided. PAYMENT. Payment may be made as follows:- 4 (1 ) In full on application. (2) £SO per centum on application and the balance by monthly instalments of 1 0 % on each of the five months succeeding the date of application. (3) Or the balance may be paid in one, two, or three months at the option of the applicant. Payment may be made to the Bank o c New Zealand at any of its Branches in New Zealand, free of exchange to the applicant. - GENERAL The Board reserves the right to decline any application or to .accept; anj application in part. > Where payment is made in full on application, interest will be payable or; the amount of the debenture from the date of payment, and in other cases interest will be payable on the amount of application money from fhe date of payment thereof up to the date of payment of the balance, and thereafter interest will bb payable on the amount of the debenture. r J ; !
