ELIXIR OF YOUTH.
MODERN WOMAN'S HEALTH. VIEWS ON LIGHT CLOTHING. A. and N.Z. • LONDON. May 23. Dr. Perry Hale, of Mount Vernon Hospital, addressing tho congress of tho Royal Institute of Public Health, declared that the modern woman of 40 years of age only looked 20. She could play golf in the daytime, jazz in the evening, and was first down to bieakfast without a bearish temper. The modern woman, said Dr. Hale, had emancipated her body and her mind. She appeared to have captured the elixir of eternal youth. All this was duo to her casting away her superfluous clothing by wearing silk next her skin, short skirts and low necks. More light and air had reached her body. Mr. Winston Churchill's thoughtless tax on silk, declared the speaker, would deal a blow to women's health.
