COUNTRY HOUSES CLOSE. Large houses in Sussex lmve had to ho shut up through the inability of the owners to find servants recently, said Mr. W. M. M. Killiek, a well-known Sussex agriculturist, with a large farjn at Bedingharn. "In my own house," added Mr. Killiek, "wo aro without a servant for the first time for 40 years." The local employment committee discussed the problem of inducing unemployed women and girls to become servants, but took no action.
