FRUIT AND PRODUCE, Prices for eggs liavo dropped about 8d a dozen in less than a week. Supplies woro more plentiful at the Auckland City Markets yesterday and tho demand was not so keen. Apples were in good supply, hut there was still a large quantity of inferior grade and culls. These sold cheaply. If anything, the general quality of fruit coming forward has improved recently and tho market is better. Field produce was in good supply and met with a keen demand, but pumpkins were a glut on tho market. The follow, ing prices were realised:— FEUIT. The end of tho week will determine whether tho strengthening will be maintained. Cood bright oaten sheaf chaff is hard to procure and is worth £3 15s to £4 on trucks. There is plenty of inferior chaff available. Potatoes have slipped back on the weekend valuation, being easier by about 5s a ton. They are selling ex wharf, Auckland, at £5 2s 6d. At the moment there are some supplies in the North, and a good-sized shipment is to leave Lyttelton to-day. Quotations for spread Juno delivery arc £5 a ton f.0.b., s.i., and for July, August and September £6 ss. Values to farmers are £3 10s a ton. Perennial ryegrass remains firm. Several sales for Australia have taken place at 5s 8d for 27-281 b seed and 6s 3d for 32-331b seed, the latter purchase being for Melbourne. There is no change to report in the values of other seeds. PROPERTY SALES. Greenback Estate, the property of Mr. Mcßurney, at Mangere. was offered at auction last evening by Messrs. Richard Arthur, Ltd.
