THE HOSPITAL BOARDS.

DOMINION CONFERENCE, OPENS IN AUCKLAND TO-DAY. The first annual meeting of the newlyformed Hospital Boards' Association will open in the Wallace ward at the Auckland Hospital to-day. The chairman of the Auckland Board, Mr. W. Wallace, will preside. He is provisional president of the association. The secretary of the Department of Health, Mr. Killick, will act as conference secretary. Nearly every hospital board in the Dominion will be represented, and it is anticipated that somo 85 delegates will bo in attendance. The opening of tho extension of the Auckland nurses' home will be performed on Friday by the Minister for Health, Sir Maui Poraaro, who hopes to be present before the. conference ends. It is hoped by local members to make tho visiting delegates' stay as pleasant as possible. An illustrated lecture will be given on hospital architecture on Thursday evening by the Auckland Hospital Board's architect, Mr. G. W. Alisop. An invitation to its fortnightly meeting on Saturday evening lias been received from tho Orphans' Club. It is anticipated those wishing to return South will be enabled to do so on Friday night.
