HEAVY PARCEL POST.
INCREASED WEI GHT LIMIT. BRITAIN TO NEW ZEALAND. [BY TELEGRAPH. —ntESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON Tuesday For some time past the British Government has had under consideration the question of inaugurating an interImperial heavy parcel post scheme between Britain and the outlying portions of the Empire. Tho scheme has as its object the fostering of inter-Imperial trade. The Postmaster-General now announces that tho New Zealand Government has agreed to the introduction of the schemo as from June 1.
Under the scheme parcels weighing up to 221b. will be accepted in Great Britain for despatch to New Zealand. The increased weight limit will bo welcomed by business men generally, as tho chambers of commerce have for some time past been pressing for an increase in the dimensions of parcels from Great Britain.
