THEFT FROM A FIRE.
BRIGADE MEMBERS CHARGED. REMANDED FOR SENTENCE. [IJY TELEGKATir. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON. Monday. Two members of the fire, brigade, Alec. Milne (24) and Bernard Dynan (32), were charged in Court to-day with the theft of goods valued at £1 15s from the premises of Edward McDonald during a recent fire. They pleaded guilty. After tho fire the' accused v-ore left in charge of tho premises. Subsequently it was found that goods valued at £l3 16s were missing. Goods traced to the possession of the 'men were valued at £1 15s. j Counsel for accused said the men saw some material lying on the floor, wet and damaged. They took it to use as covering for shelves in their room at the fire station. ft was a case of sudden temptation. There was no secrecy about the affair. Both men were admitted lo probation.
