BOXING.
THE PURDY-STACE MATCH. The holiday carnival of the Northern Boxing Association which is fixed for June 3 at the Town Hall should be especially attractive to boxing enthusiasts. The chief event will be a 15-round professional light-weight contest for a purse of £l5O between CI. Purdy, of Auckland, and G. Stace, of Sydney. Both lads arc training assiduously and arc displaying excellent form. In addition to tlxr professional bout five amateur contests have been arranged between prominent local performers. The box plan for the carnival will j>pcn at Messrs. Carter and Asher's on Thursday morning.
