VOGUE OF RIBBONS.
All the early predictions ns to the i.rond of the spring modes point to tho widespread uso of ribbons alike on dressos and millinery. Paris has to study American tastes, more or less, and it may bo noted that tliero has been during tho winter an intensive " publicity campaign" on tho part of tho ribbon section of tho Silk Association ol the United States to ■ encourage tho more gen oral use of ribbons. Tho effort would seem to have met with considerable success, and tho more costly of model costumes show ends, clusters, and rosettes (hat involve the employment of long lengths. Soft satin and moire ribbons aro favoured for hats. In these closing days of the sales ribbons aro often greatly reduced in price, and the clever amateur milliner will still find many alluring bargains' both in wide and narrow makes, and may secure something in charming colours with gold and silver borders and figurings.
