TROUBLE OVER REFEREE.
ACCEPTANCE OF APOLOGY. ASSOCIATION'S DECISION. Tho trouble arising from the raising of a protest at a recent meeting of the Management Committee of the Auckland Rugby Union against the appointment of a certain referee for one of the senior matches on May 16 has been settled. The matter was considered by the Referees' Association at a special meeting last evening. Aftem discussion it, was resolved " That the apology tendered by the Management Committee of the Auckland Rugby Union bo accepted, and the matter be allowed to drop. Further, that the Appointment Board be asked to fall into lino and resume office."
