LIVES LOST IN FIRE.
FATHER AND HIS SON. WOULD-BE RESCUER PERISHES. [by telegraph.-—press association.] WAIPAWA. Friday. A fire early this morning resulted in Morris Flvnn, aged 85 years, and William James Flynn, aged 45, being burned to death. The former, who slept in a whare adjacent to the latter's store, had not been been well for some time. He was visited by his son at aboot four o'clock, and the fire was discovered an hour later. The son rushed into the whare to his father's rescue, and it is supposed he was overcome by smoke. Both bodies were severely burned, and were almost unrecognisable.
