ROWING.
RACE FOR BARRETT CUP. Tho annual intcr-club raco for tlio Barrett, Cup will he rowed this afternoon off the West End Club's shed. To become eligible for the Barrett Cup each club will row a set of trial fours and the. respective winners will then compete for the trophy. It is anticipated that in addition to West End, holders of the trophy, Waitemata, Auckland, North Shore and St. George will compete. The, West End Club will row for trophies presented by Mr. J. Clark, club natron. INTER CLUB EIGHTS. In addition to the. programme of races for the Barrett Cup, the first challenge race for the. Dr. Stuart. Read Cup for interclub eighths will be rowed. The Auckland Club has challenged West- End, the holders. Should weather conditions be favourable the course will be. from tho Watchman Island to a point off the West End clubhouse. A capital view of the race can lie gained from the l'onsonby foreshore. There is every likelihood of Waitemata, who successfully wrested the SoniorviUe Challenge Shield from Wanganui, also making claims this season for the Dr. Stuart Read Cup.
