NEW TOWN HALL OPENED.
BUILDING AT NGARUAWAHIA, FINE ASSET TO BOROUGH. [BV TEI.EGIIAFH. —OWN' CORRESPONDENT. ] HAMILTON - . Friday. A fine new town hall, with municipal offices attached, has been completed at >'garuawahia for the Ngaruawahia Borough Council, and was officially opened this evening, when a ball was held. Tho building consists of a hall with seating accommodation for about 850 people, an auditorium, 67ft.. bv 42ft., and a stage, 33ft. by 33ft. llie front portion of the building is of two storovs. On the ground floor aro two shops, the council chambers" and municipal office being situated immediately above. The hall is equipped with a projection room for moving pictures, and has a, floor suitable for dancing, every facility for the comfort, and convenience of users of tho hall bein" provided. The building, which occupies an area 144 ft. by 61 ft. fronting the main South Road, is built of concrete and its interior is finished in rimu. The contract price was £BI6O.
