FIVE-POWER PACT.
TOO MANY QUESTIONS. MR. CHAMBERLAIN'S PLEA, LONDON, Apl. 2. The Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Austen Chamberlain, in a speech in the House of Commons, deprecated persistent questions as to whether Germany had been invited to join the round-table conference to discuss tho five-Power pact. Mr. Chamberlain appealed to members of the House to refrain from prejudicing the position on which there must presently be observed the greatest discretion. Britain, said the Minister, was anxious to facilitate, a happy issue to the negotiations which were now proceeding, and which should produce real amelioration of the present European situation.
