N.S. WALES WHEAT.
HANDLING IN BULK. 17,500,000 BUSHELS. • During the New South Wales wheat harvest just concluded 17.500,000 bushels of wheat were handled in bulk', an increase of 11,000,000 bushels over the previous year. The following quantities of wheat have been handled in bulk each year in New South Wales since the institution of the scheme: — « Bushels. 1920-21 M .. 1.941.695 1921-22 .. >. 4,323,495 1922-23 .. .. *. 4,596,563 1923-24 6,438,906 1924-25 17,500,000 Tho Premier, Sir George Fuller, stated the other day that the Government had endeavoured in every way to make the system of bulk handling as effective as possible in tho interests of the farmers. The growing favour which the system was now receiving, he said, was an indication of the measure of success that had been achieved. The Premier added that tho actual working expenses of this season, to February 28 last, wero £50,942, and the estimated additional expenditure to the end of the season was £37,569, making a total estimated expenditure for tho season of £88,511. It was estimated that the fees for the season would bo £171,626, leaving an estimated surplus of £83.114.
