A NEW ASSOCIATION. NORTH AUCKLAND DECISION. [BY TELEGUAPH.—OWN COBEESI-ONDENT. ] WHANGAKEI, Wednesday. During Easter tennis tournament period a meeting was held in Whangaroi to whii;h delegates of clubs from Paparoa to tho North Capo decided to secede from tho Auckland Tennis Association and to form a North Auckland Centre similar to that in South Auckland, which has its headquarters at Hamilton. The proposed change wasi enthusiastically supported and as thore is an area providing sixteen courts in course of preparation for playing upon next season the idea of Whangarei becoming tho centre was approved. Messrs. It. S. Finch und 11. E. G. Smith wero deputed to draw up rules for the new association.
The Whangarei tournament, concluded today in fine weather, with the following additional results:—Ladies' championship doubles—Semi-finals: Mrs. Marshall and Miss Foster boat Mrs. Mackay and Miss Campbell. C—3, G—2. Final: Misses Carruth and Crane beat Mrs. Marshall and Miss Foster.
Combined Championship Doubles."—Semifinals: Charters and Miss Campbell beat Morrison and Misa Stevons by default; Latham and Mrp. Mackav beat Smith and Misa Carruth, 6—3, 3—6, 6—l. Pinal. Latham and Mrs. Mackay beat Charters and Miss Campbell, I—fi. o—l. G—3. Ladies' Championship Singles.—Third round: Miss Carruth beat Miste Foster, ('—' J. 6—3. Semi-finals: Miss Carruth beat Mrs. Mackay. o—3, 6—3; Mias C'rano beat ML*; Campbell, 4—5, G— 5, C—4.

NAPIER, Wednesday. The Hawke's Bay provincial tenui.i tournament was continued to-day:— E. D. Andrews (Palmerston Isorth) won the men's singles championship, defeating J. Powdrell (Wanganui) in the final, o—3, and J. Lowry (Hastings) beat Campbell and Milburn (Napier), o—3, (j—l), in the men's doubles. • In the ladies' singles, Misa Howett (Ensland) beat Miss Macfarlano. (Auckland), Misses Howctt and MacFarlane meet Miss Hicks and Miss Bennett to-day lti tno doubles final, while J. Lowry and Misd Mao farlane contest the combined doubles with Andrews and Miss Howott.
