NEW WAIOTAHI MINE. PICKED STONE OBTAINED. The mine manager of the New Waiotahi Goldniiairig Company reports;— Rising on the hangingwall reef in tlie drive from the bottom of the winze is in progress, and about ono pound of pieced stone lias been obtained for tho week. Driving seaward has been advancc-d 4ft.. A few pieces of picked stone have been selected during theweek. The country continues to be favourable for gold. MINE MANAGERS' REPORTS. Ze«ban, Consolidated.—Daring the past three weeks the v?irize on the Zeehan reef at No. o level war. sunk 9;.it~, the tctaj now being 221 ft. The lafrt sampling assayed \oz. gold and 2Joz. nilver. value £2 4a 6d. lio assays were mado la-st week. Tho reef is carrying a little more galena than nsr.fc! and ,is wider than the winze, neither wail showine. Tho foot,wall is expected to be reached at 30ft. dovri. The drive on tho roof North of the break was advanced IStft. The heavy mineralised band lately met with should shortly junction with the main portion. On No. "< reef, tho rise for Mo. 2 pass is up 13ft. The reef is » strong body carrying values on the footwall. On No. 4 reef, the riso for No. 1 pass is up 34ft. The reef at this poiat is only Gin. wide but carries the usual silver sulphides.
