POWER IN THE WAIKATO.

CENTRAL BOARD'S DISTRICT. THE MONTH'S OPERATIONS. fBY TEJ.EGRAPH.— OWN CORK KSPONDENT. ] HAMILTON-, Wednesday, The Central Electric Power Board met this morning, the chairman, Mr. T. Hinton, presiding. It, was decided to communicate with tho other power boards in the district to find out if they would be prepared to join with the Central Board in a display at Waikato Winter Show. The cost v. a a estimated at £BO, and it was the opinion of the meeting that, the expense was too great to be undertaken by the board alone. The engineer reported that, the 1.1,000volt line had been completed to supply tho Huntly brickworks with power. The works had received their plant, and were erecting it. A number of lluntly service lines were being conditioned. A start had been made to extend tho 11,000-volt line to Kimihia to supply three milking motors and a group of houses, most of which were making private arrangements for installation. The service to supply the military camp at Ngaruawahia had been completed. Extensions of the 3000-volt lines were being carried out at Koromatua and Whatawhata. Road. Low-tension j extensions and services had boon completed in the following places : Koromattia, Gordonton, Rototuna, Winter's Road, Norton Road, Komakornaniu, Tanpiri, To Uapa, Ngaruawahia, Hukuntii Road, Marshall Street, and Pukutaha. The total connections for the month were: Lighting, 23; heating, 17: milking motors. 5: non-milk-ing motors, 3; water heaters. 6: water pumps, 11. It .was proposed to test all milking motor installations in the board's area, at an early date, with the exception of plants that, had been running loss than j a year.
