NEW LYNN DISTRICT.
TOWN BOARD'S DECISIONS. The fortnightly meeting «f t>' n New Lynn Town Board was presided over by Mr. ('. F. Gardiner. The Public Healtli Department notified the board that the Public Health Act of 1920 gave ample power to deal with any nuisance caused by stable manure being carried into the district. This was in answer to the, board's inquiry as to its powers to prohibit the use of stable manure for gardening purposes on account of the propagation of flies. The foreman was iisked to prepare an estimate, of the cost, of formation work in Neville's Avenue., including metalling from Astley Avenue to Portage Koad. ft was to contribute half the cost of formation work in Fruitvale Road iu conjunction with the Glen Eden Town Hoard. Plans submitted by the latter board were approved by the engineer. The building inspector reported that fourteen buildings were being erected, Four inch water mains are to replace th<? present three-inch main in Wattle Street, subject to the chairman's approval.
