THE WEDDING RING.

Sir, —The question, "Should a married man wear a wedding ring?" has becfl raised and replied to in your valuabla paper, and it seems from more aspects than one an extra opinion on the subject will do no harm. I thoroughly endorsa "Married Man's" remarks. I myselfhave been married to within a few months of 20 years, and have worn a wedding ring the whole of that time, and up till now have never heard of such a remark as "effeminacy"' attached thereto, and inasmuch as it is considered absolutels necessary for a wife to wear a ring. I ni3 r . self esteem it an honour to wear the sign of wedlock, and would like to seo it 'bet come as necessary for the husband as tin wife. There is not the slightest doubt that were such a course adopted ther« would be a great reduction in "mistakes* and less bigamy, as the fact that one was married would be patent to all. "Lucks Bounder" remarks on being "a townie'i and "A Swell" also suggests that ho lives in the country in an employment "where a ring would be a nuisance." I should like to know the nature of this difficult job. Also ho says "Does he ('Married Man') think a ring is really necessary ta distinguish a married man ? Most peopU can tell by the face." If he can pasj on the information as to how this cam be done, all the ladies without doubt would be more than pleased with it, ar it would save no end of deception and still more sorrow and despair which in f evitably follows the said deception, viz., the taking a man for single ori his word and finding out but too late (owing tq the absence of a ring) he is married.
