AUCKLAND PRESBYTERY.
CHURCH AT PUKEKAWA. GENEROUS GIFT MADE. The Auckland Presbytery m«t la-st evening. The Rev. 0. H. Loclioro presided over a good attendance. A letter was received from Mrs. 8. J. Orr offering the church built by her in 1917 :it Pukekawa. The church .stands on" a quarter of an acre. 01 land and is free of debt. The gift was received with thanks and the hopo was expressed that the generous donor might be long spared to enjoy the services of the church she had built and given. An interesting address on Sunday school activities in the Dominion was given by the Rev. It. M. Ilacburn, who is in charge of (lie work. He. urged the need for parents to encourage church work on Sundays, and also dealt with the necessity for thr concerted action of Pre.shvterian churches in securing supplies of literature at. more favourable prices. A proposal to sell a portion of the church land at Avondale was referred back to the Finance and Property Committee. Presbytery certificates were awarded the following candidates for the ministry:—Messrs. W. Gattenach, Goodcnough, and W. H. Pellow.
