THE MARKET FOR WOOL.
DULL SALE AT DUNEDIN. BIDDING VERY ERRATIC. HEAVY WITHDRAWALS MADE. [by telegraph.—muss association.] DUNEDIN. Monday. Tho third Dnnediu wool salo w;us hold to-day, with an unusually large offering. The snlo was held later in tho season than usual, this being really the customary February sale. There were heavy withdrawals. and prices were very erratic. Bidding was confined to a very few of the, Inrgo buyers, and local buyers seemed to be taking very little. The buyers in many cases were apparently indifferent whether they secured lots. There was no improvement as the sale progressed, there seeming to he little animation about the market. Bradford was the dominating factor, but, a fair amount was being taken for the Continent. America was taking nothing. -A lato estimate of tHfi position was that fine wools were down 3d to 5d on the January sale, crossbred from 2d to 4d, and bellies and pieces on an average 4d. Local fell mongers were buying fairly extensively in pieces.

Merino.—Extra super, 30d to 32jjd; super, 21 d to 23[,d ; average, 19 Jd to 20U1; inferior, 16 l-7d to 19d.
Pine Halfbred.—Extra super, 25d to 29d; super, 22£ dto 24,Ui; average, 19cl to 20 jd ; inferior, 16d to 18J,d. Coarse Halfbred.—Extra super, 21d to 24d; super, to 20,', d; average, 18d to 19d; inferior, 15d to 17d.
Fine Crossbred.—Super, 22d to 23d; average, 18d to 19.; d; inferior, 15d to 17,', d, v
Medium Crossbred.—Super, 19d to 21d; average. 16,1 dto 18id: inferior. 13d to 16d.
.Bellies and Pieces.—Merino, good to super pieces, 18d to 26J,d; good to super bellies, 14d to 20,' d; low to medium pieces, 15d to 173 d; low to medium bellies, 12d to 14J,d; halfbred, good to super pieces, 17d to 21 ; good to super bellies, 15d t<> 17d; low to medium pieces, 13d to 16(1; low to medium bellies, 12d to 14d; crossbred, good to super pieces, 14d to 16(1; good to super bellies, 13d to 15d ; low to medium pieces, lid to 13i,d; low to medium bellies, to 12^d. Crutchings.— Medium to good, to 13d; low to inferior and seedy, 8d to Locks.—Merino, lid to 14id ; halfbred, 8d to 12d ; crossbred, 7d to 9d.
