AUCKLAND STOCK EXCHANGE. There was fair activity on tho Auckland sharcmarket yesterday. In Government securities most issues of War Loans were offered by holders at late rates without response from buyers. In inscribed 1 stock holders of tho 1930 issue dropped ; 2s 6d to £96 12s 6d, with buyers advancing 2s 6d on Saturday's figure to £96 ss. Other issues were quoted at unchanged ; rates. In banks Nationals of New Zea-1 land had sale at £6 15s 6d, lato holders | ' asking £6 16s, with buyers at £6 14s 6d. j I There was a salo of New South Wales at \ £42, and a later ono at £4l 10s. Closing 1 1 holders quoted £4l 15s, with buyers at j ' £4l ss, a drop of 15s compared with Saturday's figure. Quotations for Bank of New Zealand were unchanged at holders 535, buyers 52s 6d, while rights also re--3 mained steady, holders asking 31s 4d, with j buyers at 31s 3d. Holders of Unions of j Australia askfcd £l4 2s 6d without re-1 i sponse. In insurances Nov/ Zcalands J [ changed hands at 30s lOd, with buyers j ; offering that amount, holders 31s. Holders ' . of South British receded 3d to 46s 6d, j • while buyers wcro at 45s 6d. In coals | l" Taupiris sold at, 17s 6d. Holders asked! • 17s 9d, while buyers-were at 17s 6d. In: ' miscellaneous lines Taranaki Oils wcro ' steady. Holders dropped from 31s 6d to j : 31s at the last call, while inquiry was at; 1 30s 6d during the day. There wore no I J sales. In mining Waihis sold at 25s 3d, j r with more available at that figure, buyers , offering 255. There was a sale of Grand j 1 Junctions at, Is, lato holders being at Is i ' 2d. buyers lid.
